Summary

The object of Add Diction is to correctly complete five words before time runs out. Players must position a letter from the letter-pool onto the line in play to form a word that matches the clue. The game ends when all five words are correct or time runs out.

Instructions

  1. Click "Start." A clue to Line 2 will appear.
  2. Drag a letter from the letter-pool at the bottom of the screen and hold it over one of the dots. The letters from the line above will fall around your letter. Drop your letter into place to form the word that matches the clue.
  3. Once you complete Line 2, drag and drop letters into Lines 3, 4, and 5.
  4. If you create a word you want to delete, click "Undo Word." The dropped letter will return to the letter-pool and the other letters return to the line above.
  5. Clues to the words appear over time, but not in sequential order.
  6. After you have completed all lines, if any answers are incorrect, the correct words will appear in the letter-pool. Use "Undo Word" to work your way to the incorrect words and try again.
  7. Click "Play Again" to restart game.

Game Tips

Game Play

  • Remember: letters from the bottom of the screen can be put into the blanks before, after, or in between the letters already showing.
  • You can put letters in the middle of words; surrounding letters will automatically move out of the way.
  • You can undo words, but you can't shift around letters you have already placed.
  • Play occurs from top to bottom; you can't skip lines.

Strategy

  • The letters on the first line of the ladder don't necessarily form a word.
  • Using the last clue, try to guess what the last word in the ladder is and then work backwards and figure out the intervening words.
  • Try building the ladder using any words that seem to make sense. The game will guide you along by letting you know which words you have right.
  • If you drop a letter in the wrong place, click "Undo Word."
  • There are some puns in there, so don't take all clues literally, and remember that words can have more than one meaning.
  • Guess at the words; use "undo word" button later if needed.
  • If you're completely stumped, click "Answers."
